Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson may be reunited in the ring. When asked about the possibility of facing Tyson, the 57-year-old former boxer said he has another priority, but did not rule out another duel with the 53-year-old former fighter.
“My manager is talking about all of this. But, the fact is that I, personally, if asked, the only person I would really say would be Riddick Bowe. Me and he [Tyson] are great friends,” Holyfield told TMZ .
Holyfield and Tyson recently announced that they are considering a return to the ring to raise funds for charity.
The two fighters met twice in the ring. In the first, in 1996, Holyfield won by technical knockout. The following year, they went back to fighting, and Tyson was disqualified for biting and tearing a piece from his opponent’s ear. Despite this, they made peace.
In April 2020, Tyson stated that he returned to training. Shortly after, the former heavyweight champion posted a video showing his training.
